Residents of the Martinelli Street area of Watsonville have reported a rash of tire thefts over the past few weeks. All of the vehicles have been newer model Honda Accords. The most recent theft occurred Monday, when an unknown suspect stole all four tires and rims of a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Martinelli Street in the middle of the night and left the vehicle perched on blocks. No leads are available, according to Watsonville Police. Sgt. Mish Radich said the thefts have also been occuring throughout other areas of the city, targeting the rims on Honda Accord Sport models. He advised anyone who owns a similar car to install rim locks on their tires. Anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD Investigation Division at 768-3350 or the Crime Tip Line at 768-3544.
