WATSONVILLE — Robert A. Chadwick died at Watsonville Community Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017. He was 86.

Mr. Chadwick was adopted in Rockingham, Vt. to Robert and Edna Chadwick and lived in Watsonville for the past 11 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Pn2 before being honorably discharged in 1953. He was a member and active in the honor guard of the local VFW for many years and also a member of the American Legion. He was also a volunteer fireman in the 1970s. Mr. Chadwick loved to go deep sea fishing and trolling for salmon, cooking and smoking his famous pork ribs in his backyard.

Mr. Chadwick is survived by his daughter, Linda Rivera (Joe); and six granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Chavez; and sister, Betty Lou Willde.

Services will be held at a later date. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
