Maria Mendoza Valdobinos died at Dominican Hospital on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was 63.

Ms. Mendoza was born to David Mendoza and Emilia Valdobinos in Michoacán, Mexico on Dec. 24, 1954. She was a resident of this community for 45 years, and was employed 27 years at Bird’s Eye Foods until its doors closed. She had a flower garden and spice plants (oregano, cilantro and mint leaves) which she used daily to cook delicious meals for her family. She liked to visit her many friends, taking them a plate of food when they were sick, enjoyed listening to music, taking casino trips with friends and watching her favorite soccer team “Los Tigres” but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, David Sanchez and Pedro Martinez; daughter, Blanca Mendoza; two brothers; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday, May 20 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 21 at 10 a.m. at Valley Catholic Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
