SANTA CRUZ — A Santa Cruz man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly injuring three pedestrians while driving drunk, California Highway Patrol officer Julieta Trenado said.

The victims, two females, 14 and 47, and a male, 49, are from Lathrop. They were taken to Dominican Hospital with moderate injuries.

Tarmo Hannula, 65, was charged with two felony counts of causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, jail records showed.

According to Trenado, Hannula was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla east on East Cliff Drive at about 6:30 p.m. when he veered off the road and then struck a parked car and a signpost that fell and hit three people.

The incident is under investigation.
