The Aptos High boys golf and St. Francis High girls track and field teams were both recently named Central Coast Section Scholastic champions for the spring season.

The Mariners’ golfers finished with the third highest cumulative grade point average (3.769) of any boys golf program in the section, while St. Francis had the fourth highest GPA (3.7) among girls track programs competing in the CCS.

The Aptos boys also won their third straight Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League title this season with a perfect 12-0 record.

The St. Francis girls, meanwhile, broke several school records and sent senior Samantha Bellucci to the CCS semifinals.

• FC Golden State Force 3, Santa Cruz Breakers FC 0 – The Santa Cruz Breakers FC dropped to 3-2-1 with a shutout loss on Sunday at Santa Cruz High.

The Breakers will return to action today at Monterey Peninsula College at 7:30 p.m. against Fresno FC U23.

Santa Cruz will then play three road games before returning home on June 29.

YOUTH BASKETBALL

• S.C. Tsunami wins tournament – The Tsunami girls AAU basketball team won the Santa Cruz Quakes Tournament over the weekend at Santa Cruz High.

The Tsunami beat the San Jose Cagers for the championship.
