Leman DeWayne “Lemar” Turley passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his sister’s home, surrounded by loved ones, listening to his favorite station KPIG.
DeWayne was born at Fort Ord December 13, 1953 and was raised in Watsonville by Leman C. and Albertine (Benn) Turley.
He leaves behind both of his parents of Watsonville; sister Dawn Moore of Portland, OR; brother David Turley and sister Deana Melendez of Watsonville; three beautiful daughters: Audra Newton of Chico, and Caitlyn and Heather Turley of Watsonville; and his wonderful 11 nieces and 3 nephews.  DeWayne was preceded in death by his little sister Donja Martinez and good friend/brother-in-law Arthur Melendez.
DeWayne will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him. He graduated from Watsonville High in 1972.  He will be remembered for his choice in music, his surfing days, and his stories of his life in construction.
The Turley family would like to thank Watsonville Hospital, Hospice of Santa Cruz, and his dear friend Alan Iermini for the care given to him in his final days.
At DeWayne’s request, no services will be held.
