Isabelle Carmen Butcher died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 2, 2018. She was 85.

She was born near Gilroy on Oct. 14, 1932 to Dolores Mesa Garcia and Andrew Benson Garcia. She traveled extensively during her early adult years, to Japan, Germany and Europe, Texas, Colorado and throughout California. She finally resettled in California and was a driver for the Santa Cruz Metro Transit bus system for over 23 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Hoffman; and her husband, Harold Butcher. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Sabatino of Watsonville, Cynthia Ann Fredrick of Marina, and Debbie May Manger of Lemoore; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, March 15 from 5-9 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A service will be held on Friday, March 16 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. with burial services to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Reception to follow burial at the Corralitos Woman’s Club, 33 Browns Valley Road, Corralitos.
