James Sandoval scored a pair of touchdowns and the Watsonville High Wildcatz shutout Pajaro Valley High, 30-0, on Friday night at Carl Conelly Stadium on the campus of Cabrillo College in the 11th annual Belgard Kup Game.

Evan Delozier and Isaac Baltazar also scored touchdowns for Watsonville (6-3, 3-2), which avenged last year’s 3-0 stunning loss to Pajaro Valley. 

The win gives Watsonville its first winning record since 2009.

The Wildcatz will finish their regular season next week at home against Gilroy High on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Pajaro Valley, meanwhile, finishes its first season under head coach Kevin Cordova at 1-9 overall and 0-6 in Monterey Bay League Pacific division play.

The Grizzlies will graduate 13 seniors, including their leading receiver and kicker Diego Navarro and their top lineman Irepan Romero.

Seaside 34, M.V.C. 7 — The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs will miss the Central Coast Section playoffs for the first time in three seasons after Friday night’s MBL-Gabilan division loss to Seaside High in Watsonville.

M.V.C., which was celebrating senior night, finishes its first season under head coach Bruce Dini at 4-6 overall and 2-5 in MBL-G action.

The Mustangs will graduate 21 seniors, including quarterback Sean White, running back Cody Paresa, defensive lineman Cory Margo and safety Garret Laine.
