SAN JOSE — The California Highway Patrol has arrested a Watsonville man for allegedly driving into a CHP motorcycle officer on Sept. 6.

CHP officer Trista Drake said Alfredo Saucedo Jr., 43, was arrested in San Jose Wednesday following an extensive investigation.

On Sept. 6 at 3:30 p.m., Saucedo was traveling south on Highway 1 in a 2000 E-class Mercedes in Santa Cruz County when he collided with the CHP officer. A motorist in a Jeep was also struck and injured, Drake said.

Saucedo was arrested for reckless driving that caused serious bodily injury.
