Barbara Padilla died surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was 87.

Mrs. Padilla was born on May 23, 1930. She was a lifelong resident of Watsonville. Her strong work ethics contributed to her 25 years of employment history at the Green Giant Cannery and various raspberry fields. Her joyful, loving, and giving personality was valued by her family and friends.

She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, spending time with her family, and listening and dancing to norteño music, especially Ramon Ayala.

She is survived by her husband, Jesus Padilla; four daughters; eight sons; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Tuesday, March 20 from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at Maria Auxiliadora Church on Wednesday, March 21 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
