WATSONVILLE — Police arrested a Watsonville man Monday afternoon on suspicion of attempted homicide.

Mark Anthony Escobedo, 21, was taken into custody and placed in Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of being tied to stabbing at least one man during a fight in October in Watsonville, police said.

In October, police said that about 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Watsonville Community Hospital emergency room for a report of two victims of stab wounds.

While police interviewed the victims, a third victim of a stab wound was brought into the emergency room. It was determined that all three victims had been stabbed near Progress Avenue and Longview Drive.

Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

All victims were reported to be in stable condition.

Sgt. Brian Ridgway said police received a break in the case with a valuable lead, which helped lead them to Escobedo on Monday.
