Manuel G. Gonzales died Monday, November 16, 2009. He was 83.

Born in Alice, Texas, Mr. Gonzales last lived in Hollister. He lived in the Watsonville area for 44 years. Mr. Gonzales owned and operated Manuel’s Detail Shop. He was a member of Sacred Heart

Catholic Church.

Mr. Gonzales is survived by his wife, Maria N. Gonzales; children, Julian (Gloria) Gonzales, Gloria (Israel) Longoria, Manuel (Paz) Gonzales, Anita (Tony) Marquez and Lucy (Raul) Garcia; siblings, Tobey Gonzales and Josefa Martinez; 16 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Gonzales; sister, Diamantina Ortegon; and grandson, Eddie Gonzales.

A recitation of the rosary will be held today at 7 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St. in Hollister. A Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 680 College St. in Hollister, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery on Hillcrest Road.
