Francis Burnham died Thursday, October 15, 2009. He was 89.
A former resident of Watsonville, Mr. Burnham lived in the area for more than 80 years before moving to Campbellsville, Ky. When he was a small boy, he moved to the area from Oklahoma with his family. Mr. Burnham graduated from Watsonville High School. He worked as a California public school system employee for 35 years before retiring in 1975. Mr. Burnham was a World War II veteran. While living in California, he was appointed secretary of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 553.
Mr. Burnham is survived by his children, Gary C. Burnham of Pennsylvania, Susan P. Brown of Kentucky and Donna Sommers of Indiana; siblings, Lola Hart of Corralitos, Bob Rackley of Sacramento and Clara Peters and Bonita Switzer of Watsonville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Loretta Hall and Betty Frank of Watsonville.
Funeral services with military honors were held in Campbellsville.
