Jesus Perez Silva died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at a Watsonville convalescent hospital. He was 71.
A native of Michoacán, Mexico, Mr. Silva lived in Watsonville for 40 years. He worked in the strawberry fields and attended Valley Catholic Church. Mr. Silva was known as a happy, hardworking person and a patient, caring father who always took pride in his clothing and grooming.
Mr. Silva is survived by his wife, Isabel of Watsonville; four sons, Jaime and Martin Silva of Watsonville and Mario and Jorge Silva of Hollister; five daughters, Angela Sanchez of Mexico, Leticia Silva of San Jose and Yolanda Ramos, Maricela and Virginia Silva, all of Watsonville; 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Wednesday from 3-9 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Valley Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Ave. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
