Caterina Larice died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at her home in Watsonville. She was 84.

Mrs. Larice was born in Italy and moved to France with her family when she was a child. She and her husband settled in Watsonville in 1953, where they raised their family. Mrs. Larice was a devout Catholic and devoted her life to serving others. She volunteered at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Mrs. Larice loved to entertain and cook. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Larice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lodovico “Vic” Larice of Watsonville; daughter, Chris (Dan) Larice-Zapata of Watsonville; brothers, Bruno Pezzin of Toronto, Canada, and Salumo Pezzin of France; sisters, Ines Poletto, Louis Daros and Imelda Firamonte, all of France; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph, Pierre and Gino Pezzin.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6-9 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will follow at Valley Catholic Cemetery.
