Kenneth Valdez Sr. died Sunday, November 8, 2009, in Watsonville. He was 54.
A native of Waipahu, Hawaii, Mr. Valdez lived in Watsonville for 46 years. He worked as the head of maintenance for 37 years at Sunny Meadows Apartments. He enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, going to casinos and watching the 49ers.
Mr. Valdez is survived by his wife, Anita Louise Valdez of Watsonville; sons, Timothy Valdez of Scotts Valley, Kenny (Stephanie Martinez) Valdez Jr. and Michael Tiborcio Valdez of Watsonville; daughters, Tracy (Geronimo DeLeon) Valdez and MaryLynn Louise Valdez; brothers, Roy Valdez and Jesus Valdez of Watsonville; sisters, Margaret Akau and Venisa Valdez of Hawaii and Amelia Valdez and Gloria Ruiz of Watsonville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tiborcio Valdez and Alan Edwin Moore Sr.; and sisters Beverly Sugiton, Rachel Valdez, Lucia Elliot and Helena Cabanlit.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Davis Memorial Chapel. A recitation of the rosary will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. A Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church.
Davis Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
