Tommy Gene Trantham died after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer Sunday, November 8, 2009, at his home in San Jose Bautista. He was 81.
Born in Oklahoma, Mr. Trantham moved to Watsonville as a boy. He drove trucks for 30 years, and later drove tour buses. He was a member of Teamsters No. 287 and retired from Graniterock in 1988. Mr. Trantham loved cars, motorcycles, boats, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Trantham is survived by his companion of 26 years, Ruth Dotson; grandson, Jonathan Pepper; nephews, Mark Trantham and Tim Johnson; and Ruth’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, Keith, Michael and Daniel; and brother, Jim.
Per Mr. Trantham’s request, no services will be held. He will be laid to rest in San Juan Bautista Cemetery.
