WATSONVILLE ó†More kids are coming to school in Pajaro Valley Unified School District.
Thatís because the district over the past three years has reduced by 60 percent the numbers of students who are expelled, thanks to recent efforts by educators, Santa Cruz County Superior Court, the countyís mental health division and Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance.
According to data compiled by the PVUSD Student Services Department, 250 students were expelled during the 2010-11 school year, compared to 100 in 2013-14.For the complete article see the 08-16-2014 issue.
