Man wanted for attacking woman with stun gun

WATSONVILLE — Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a Watsonville man who allegedly assaulted a woman at his residence early Saturday morning.

According to deputies, Johnny Campos, 50, punched, choked and used a stun gun on a female acquaintance when she was visiting him at his residence approximately 1 a.m.

The victim fought off the attack and fled the residence. The victim suffered moderate injuries.

Sheriff’s detectives served a searched of Campos’ residence and seized several items of evidence.

Campos had already fled the scene, and his whereabouts is unknown. He is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.

Campos is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 190 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He has an extensive criminal history and is considered dangerous, deputies said.
