WATSONVILLE — Fifteen employees at Watsonville Community Hospital were recently notified that their positions will be eliminated in the fall as the hospital moves its business office functions out of state.
Some business office functions will move to a centralized office shared with other hospitals, said Cindy Weigelt, hospital spokeswoman.
Sharing resources between hospitals has recently been a common practice as hospitals have been finding ways to cope with the economic downturn without affecting patient care, she said.
"The 15 employees impacted by this decision are valued members of our team and we appreciate their work to support Watsonville Community Hospital," Weigelt said. For the complete article see the 07-31-2014 issue.
