WATSONVILLE — One hundred and twenty cancer survivors and their supporting teams helped raise $115,000 over the weekend at the annual Relay for Life.

The event, which ran from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday at Watsonville High School’s athletic field, serves as the main fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, a nationwide community-based volunteer health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer by preventing the disease, saving lives and diminishing suffering.

“Today is like celebrating another birthday,” said Mistie Wilson, event chair. “Today is about celebrating. It’s about remembering and it’s about supporting.”
