CAPITOLA — Chip Bockman started as a Junior Guard when he was a young boy, and after enduring the daily workout sessions for years, he said he came away with a lifelong love for the sea.
“It taught me to love the ocean,” he said. “From then on I stayed involved in swimming.”
Once a summer activity for him, Bockman has since made a career out of the activity. He served as a lifeguard in Capitola and for California State Parks for eight seasons, and is now a lifeguard supervisor in Santa Cruz.For the complete article see the 07-19-2014 issue.
