WATSONVILLE — The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees Wednesday unanimously approved a $201 million budget plan that includes hiring counselors, activities directors and coaches.
It will also allow the district to hire teachers at its 16 elementary schools, full-time custodians at the six middle schools, and return elementary school office assistants to full-time status.
In addition, the district will hire additional social and emotional counselors to help students with non-educational issues such as poverty, mental health and abuse, and bring on intervention teachers to work with students in lower grades who are struggling academically.
