WATSONVILLE — A Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge ruled Friday that parts of Watsonville’s 2030 general plan are inadequate, marking the third loss for the city in the ongoing lawsuit.
In his tentative ruling, Judge Paul Marigonda said that the city’s Highway 1 traffic impacts analysis — and the analysis of the alternatives — were inadequate, and told the city it has to rewrite those portions of the general plan update.
The ruling will be reviewed by parties on both sides of the issue within two weeks.
City officials say the ruling will further delay approval of the 2030 general plan as parties on both sides of the issue decide their next step.
