WATSONVILLE — After a tense week where Watsonville’s Measure G’s victory hung by a fingernail, it passed Friday after the Santa Cruz County Elections Department certified the June 3 vote.
The measure passed with 3,025 yes votes, which makes 67.22 percent.
People on both sides of the issue have been watching it closely since it immediately garnered the necessary two-thirds majority approval by only a handful of votes in the June 3 election.
Watsonville Police Chief Manny Solano, who has been a driving force behind the measure, called the passage a “huge boost for Watsonville’s safety.”For the complete article see the 06-21-2014 issue.
