July 21, 1949 – April 9, 2014
Jeff O’Bannon of Watsonville, passed away at Stanford Hospital on April 9th from liver and kidney failure, he was 64 years old. His family held vigil at his bedside for eight days hoping that he would become well enough to receive a liver transplant. Jeff was born in Los Angeles at Queen of Angels Hospital and grew up in Southern California where he learned to surf and sing in garage bands. He moved to the Santa Cruz area in 1973 after serving in the National Guard. Jeff has been building Custom Cabinets for the past 27 years and was partners with his brother Dan at Bay Custom Cabinets in Watsonville for the past 16 years where he was a Master Sawyer and Master Cabinet Maker. He was also an accomplished photographer, tennis player, lead singer, father, brother and friend.
Jeff is survived by his sisters, Jo Poulton of Carmel and Lake Tahoe, Victoria McCharen of Aptos, Dan O’Bannon of Watsonville, his daughters, Karie Mariani of Temecula CA and Briana O’Bannon of Watsonville, Briana’s mother, Michele of Aromas, grand-daughter, Isabella Mariani of Temecula as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends in Santa Cruz County and around the world. He will be missed!
