WATSONVILLE — Three years after a lawsuit pitted neighbors of Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds against Ocean Speedway, the parties agreed to a settlement Tuesday.
Community Alliance for Fairgrounds Accountability, also known as CAFA, filed the lawsuit against the racetrack, citing concerns about excessive noise as well as increased traffic, air and water pollution.
“I feel good,” said CAFA leader Max Kelley. “I think it’s a step in the right direction for the community, and it solves a lot of problems we were trying to address.”For the complete article see the 02-27-2014 issue.
