Driscollís workers spend day in the garden

WATSONVILLE ó†Working with agriculture was nothing new to the 40 people who spent Tuesday afternoon toiling in a large garden in Watsonville.

But these workers were from Driscollís, the Watsonville berry company whose products are shipped throughout the U.S. and Canada. Most have desk jobs and duties that donít normally require shovel-and-hoe work.

But they chose just that, and from all appearances they were thoroughly enjoying themselves as they raked, weeded, removed rubble and spread mulch.

The day of work was part of Driscollís ďGood Things HappenĒ program, in which groups of employees from the companyís several locations throughout the country challenge each other to perform community service projects, said General Manager Rob Webb.
