Joseph Michael King Jr., 84 passed away at home in Watsonville, CA, November 7th, 2013. Joseph, Joe, Joey born to the late Joseph Michael and Fern Rose King. January 9, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri .
Survived by his devoted wife Lisa Morley King, his only brother Gary King, the mother of his daughters Ramona Lightfoot, his daughters Tina Marie King Henderson and her husband Bill Henderson; “Joey” King Inman. His Grandchildren Nicole Marie Henderson and Billy Henderson and 2 great grandchildren Damita and Keith.
Joe served as a paratrooper in the US Army's famous 82nd Airborne Division. He was part of the Military Police that provided security for the War Crime's of the Japanese Government at the end of World War 11. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska 1946, Joe owned and operated King Aviation at Merrill Field for many years. Joe's aviation expertise was both engines and airframe. He loved to work on older "Alaskan Bush Planes" like the Piper Super Cub, and Canadian Beaver. After leaving Alaska in the late eighty’s he spent time working for Lear Jet in Arizona and then moved and settled in Santa Cruz County in 1989. He found himself back at what he loved, working on and being around airplanes at the Watsonville Airport. A man of few words but you could always depend on the truth. He was to be contended with and will surely be missed.
