The Alvarez Eagles clinched the Monterey Bay League Pacific championship with a 38-7 win over the VIsiting Watsonville Wildcatz Friday night in Salinas.
The Wildcatz stuck around with the Eagles and went into the half down 14-7, but they were held scoreless for the rest of the game.
Watsonville (3-6, 1-4) will finish up its season Friday against the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies in the eighth-annual Belgard Kup at Watsonville High School.
Aptos 34, Gunn 0
The Aptos Mariners pushed their winning streak to five games, and posted their third straight shutout with a 34-0 win over the struggling Gunn Titans in Palo Alto Friday.
Aptos (7-2, 4-0), having already clinched at least a share of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League title, will make the trip to Felton to play the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars in its final game of league play.
If the Mariners win, they will have won their third outright SCCAL title in three years.
Santa Cruz 31, St. Francis Central Coast Catholic 10
The St. Francis Central Coast Catholic Sharks could not pull off the win on senior night and Santa Cruz ran away with a 31-10 win at Carl Connelly Stadium in Aptos Friday night.
The Sharks finished their season with a 4-5 record.
Palma 24, Monte Vista Christian 6
The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs were kept out of the end zone on offense, and the Palma Chieftains grabbed their second consecutive Monterey Bay League Gabilan title with a 24-6 win at Monte Vista Christian school.
The Mustangs scored their only points of the game by recovering a bad snap in the end zone for a touchdown.
Monte Vista Christian (3-6, 1-4) will end its season with a trip to Seaside Friday.
