Home robbed on Halloween night

Posted: Friday, Nov 1st, 2013

WATSONVILLE Police are looking for three suspects who robbed a home on Halloween night.

According to Sgt. Michael Ridgway, the victims were handing out candy for Halloween at their home on Gonzales Street around 9 p.m. when they answered the door for what they thought were more trick or treaters.

When the door opened, three masked suspects rushed in, assaulting the male resident, Ridgway said. The couple was forced to another location in the house and held at gunpoint while the other suspects ransacked the house taking various items.

After several minutes the suspects fled the scene on foot leaving a trail of items belonging to the victims.

Officers arrived on scene in minutes after the victims dialed 911. American Medical Response paramedics transported the male resident to Watsonville Community Hospital for non-life threatening injuries to his face.

Officers swept the area and contacted several neighbors in an effort to locate the suspects. WPD CSI personnel arrived to process the crime scene. No suspects have been identified, according to Ridgway.

The suspects were described as three male subjects in their 20's wearing masks and gloves. One suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, another a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, and the third was wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to contact the Watsonville Police Departments Investigation Bureau at 768-3352 or the Anonymous Crime Tip Line at 728-3544.
