Ray Anderson passed away Friday, September 13, after a valiant battle with cancer. Ray was born in McCrory, Arkansas and moved to California as a young man. He was raised in a family of 12 and often described his family as a portrait of the Waltons. He had a zest for life and was an inspiration to many. He retired in 2004 after working at Santa Cruz Memorial Park for 30 years.
Ray is survived by his wife, Karen, together celebrating 45 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children: Dwayne Anderson and Marsha King and husband Jimmie King of Idaho; grandchildren Gaile Anderson, Lacy Anderson, Ryan Bruce and Shannon Bruce also of Idaho, four sisters and two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
During his life and throughout his year-long struggle with cancer he reached out to others through his unwavering faith in God. He never met a stranger. He served his church in many capacities, including deacon, teacher, treasurer and music director. His spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
