WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville woman who was arrested Monday and charged with burglarizing a home in Watsonville was due to report to serve a 4-year jail sentence for burglary later this month, said Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputy Ryan Kennedy.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Moncovich, 37, is also suspected of burglarizing several residences throughout Santa Cruz County.

Deputies responded to a residence on East Bel Mar Drive north of Watsonville approximately 4:20 p.m. for a report of illegal entry.

Information gathered from witnesses led detectives to Moncovich, and once they began investigating they found evidence linking her to several other burglaries, deputies said.

Among the stolen items recovered were a firearm, electronics, jewelry, coins and other items.

It is unclear how many burglaries Moncovich will ultimately be charged with, Kennedy said.

“Right now were kind of unraveling everything,” he said. “At this point we know it’s going to be several.”

Moncovich has previous history for burglary and other property crimes, deputies said. She was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on $97,500 bail, court records showed.

She is will be arraigned Thursday at 8:15 a.m.
