WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville girl died Saturday in a solo-vehicle crash in Palo Alto, California Highway Patrol officer Art Montiel said.
The Santa Clara County coroner identified the victim as Dalia Campos.
The crash occurred at 11:37 a.m. on Highway 280. Dalia was one of eight people from Watsonville aboard a 2001 Ford F-150 that was traveling northbound near Page Mill Road when the female driver apparently lost control of the pickup, Montiel said.
The Ford rolled multiple times and Dalia, who was reportedly not restrained by a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered blunt force injuries and a skull fracture. Two other passengers were also ejected.
The 37-year-old driver and a 44-year-old male passenger suffered major injuries. A 43-year-old man, a woman, 50, and three children suffered minor injuries.
The CHP said alcohol or drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident, Montiel said.
