Shooting leaves two dead in King City

Posted: Tuesday, Jun 25th, 2013

KING CITY — The King City Police Department is seeking the person or persons responsible for a shooting midmorning Tuesday on Jayne Street that left two dead.

KCPD Acting Chief Bruce Miller said that KCPD officers responded before 11 a.m. to 450 Jayne St. for a shots fired call and heard on the way that there was a female down on the ground. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body, who had no pulse and wasn’t breathing. Officers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and took her to Mee Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

An additional victim was found in the driver’s seat of an SUV that had crashed several cabins further down Jayne Street, Miller said. The driver was dead after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers have not yet released the names of the victims.

Miller said officers are actively pursuing the investigation, and updates will be given as they come available.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the KCPD at 386-5980 or the anonymous WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
