WATSONVILLE "This is the side you don't usually get to be on," said Rayvon Williams, manager of the Watsonville Municipal Airport, during the facility's open house on Saturday.

With all the first responders on display and the ramp lined with rows of aircraft and classic cars, the event showcased all the airport has to offer while giving visitors a preview of the upcoming Watsonville Fly-In & Air Show on Labor Day weekend.

Watsonville City Councilman Felipe Hernandez and Mayor Lowell Hurst stopped by to show their support.

"It is a real exciting opportunity for people to see the inner workings of the airport meet the pilots, see Cal Fire and law enforcement," Hurst said. "You see first hand the level of activity that is here at the airport."
