WATSONVILLE — More than a dozen pink slips were issued Thursday as an effort to balance the city budget, according to a source that chose not to be identified.
The pink slips largely fell under the umbrella of the police and fire departments, the source said.
As of 6 p.m. Thursday, little information was available, as city offices were closed.
The Watsonville City Council will look over the proposed budget during a special meeting on May 21. For the agenda, visit www.cityofwatsonville.org/city-government/city-council/city-council-meetings-2013
