PVLL: Abel Martinez throws beauty, leads Giants over Astros

The Giants squeaked out a 3-1 win over the Astros in Monday afternoon Little League action.

Abel Martinez was the winning pitcher and he had the Astros swinging at air with eight strikeouts.

Harrison Zischke brought in the Astros only run with a solo homer.

In other Pajaro Valley Little League action:

•Rays 12, Padres 1: The Rays dominated the Padres on Tuesday afternoon.

Carlos Renteria put an end to the game through the 10-run mercy rule with a grand slam.

Maximillian Ramirez also hit a home run. He and E.J. Kelly both scored three runs.

Eddie Munoz was the only Padre to cross the plate on the day.

•Cubs 2, Braves 1: The Cubs squeaked out a win over the Braves in extras thanks to Danny Delozier and Kyle Passey.

With Delozier on third, Passey’s infield single brought him home for what would be the winning run.

Aaron Soto scored the only run for the Braves. Ryan Rivera, Andrew Seymour and Richard Lerma all had singles.

AAA Minors

• Dodgers 7, Athletics 2: The Dodgers struck down the Athletics on Wednesday evening.

Luke Keaschall fell a single shy of hitting for the cycle. He finished with a double, a triple, a home run and three runs.

Frankie Guzman and Merrick Gonzalez both scored for the A’s.

• Giants 8, Cardinals 6: The Giants beat the Cardinals in Tuesday evening action.

Sean Farley hit two singles for the Giants. Robbie Ditlevsen had a double and a single.

The Cardinals were led by Quinn Gonzalez who had a single and a double.

• Dodgers 13, Yankees 7: Luke Keaschall lead the Dodgers over the Yankees in Wednesday’s Little League action.

He finished with two triples, a single and three RBIs. Danny Miranda also hit a triple for the Dodgers.

Brandon George kept the Yanks in it by scoring three runs and hitting a triple. Dakota Rego had a double.
