WATSONVILLE — Eraclia “Jackie” Rodriguez died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was 79.
Mrs. Rodriguez was born and raised in La Junta, Colo. on June 8, 1933. At the age of 13 she moved to California and she worked at Del Mar Foods for 20 years and worked as a translator for CAB. She did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and her current mission was with Loaves and Fishes.
Mrs. Rodriguez was a devoted Catholic and was a member of the Notre Dame Prayer Group and the Omega Society. She started the Adoration Program at St. Patrick’s Church and she attended adoration at Valley Catholic Church every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her children, Andras Gonzalez, Paul Garcia, Felecia Garcia (David) Fischer, Carmen Rodriguez and Javier Rodriguez; her brother, Johnny Lopez; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Joseph and a grandson.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Loaves and Fishes, 150 Second St., Watsonville, CA 95076.
Visitation will be held at Valley Catholic Church today from 6-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Valley Catholic Church on Friday at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
