SALINAS ó Genaro Anaya Rocha, resident of Salinas, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was 95.
Mr. Anaya was born in Michoacan, Mexico, on Aug. 29, 1917, to Lorenzo Anaya and Emilia Rocha.†He worked as a field worker for various strawberry farms for 80 years.†He loved his horses, cows and the country life.†He was good father and grandfather, and a very hard-working man who was always happy.†
Mr. Anaya is survived by his wife, Josefina Rocha Fernandez; his sons, Jose, Eriberto, Antonio, Aurelio, Jesus, Gerardo and Genaro Anaya; his daughters; Cleotilde, Jovita† and Guadalupe Anaya, Emila Anaya M., and Elena Zamora; 55 grandchildren and 106 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mehlís Colonial Chapel on Wednesday from 1-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m.† A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Thursday at 11 a.m.† Burial will take place in Gomez Farias, Mexico, on a later date.
