WATSONVILLE — Eulalio Ruiz-Castaneda died at Watsonville Community Hospital on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was 56.
Mr. Ruiz was born in Villa Mar, Michoacán in Mexico but moved to Watsonville nearly 40 years ago. He worked in the fields as a berry picker for 35 years. Mr. Ruiz was a happy and sociable person and a wonderful father, brother and friend. He liked music especially the music of Vincent Fernandez.
Mr. Ruiz is survived by his sons, Eulalio Ruiz Jr., Juan Ruiz, Eric Ruiz and Elliott Ruiz; daughters, Rosa Ruiz, Griselda Ruiz, Karla Ramirez and Elidea Ruiz; brothers, Juventino, Pablo, Maurilio and Raymundo; sisters, Zocorro, Monica, Veronica, Estela and Teresa; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Monday from 5-9 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
