CAPITOLA She makes her living by recycling. No, Anne Abraham isnt the person you see shoving a shopping cart full of bottles and cans down the street to the local recycling center. Shes the one behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado 3500 flatbed truck thats loaded down with glass, aluminum and plastic.

For the past 18 years Abraham has been polishing the routine of her recycling pick-up service. Now, with 24 accounts at various businesses in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Soquel and Aptos, Abraham, 36, runs her own business and is content with her achievement.

I meet so many people the owners of bars and restaurants, customers and other business folks I love it, Abraham said Tuesday on her routine run in Capitola. I guess Ive become a permanent fixture in my truck while making the rounds. Sometimes it feels like everyone knows me.

On average, Abrahams said she drops off about 1,800 pounds of glass four times a week at State Steel in Pajaro.
