WATSONVILLE — A Watsonville man was arrested Wednesday after he was stopped for a vehicle code violation and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and cash, the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team announced Friday.

Andres Mena, 33, was arrested after the stop on Atkinson Lane near Freedom Boulevard after Watsonville Police officers found approximately 39 grams of crystal methamphetamine, four grams of cocaine and more than $600 in cash.

When agents from the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team searched Mena’s Delores Avenue residence they found an additional 11.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3.9 grams of cocaine and more than $11,000 in cash stashed in his bedroom.

SCCACT agents also seized all of the cash located in this case along with Mena’s vehicle.

Mena was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and charged with transportation and possession for sale of a controlled substance. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Investigators from the Department of Homeland Security placed an immigration hold on Mena.
