WATSONVILLE — Three county students placed first in their category at the 62nd annual California State Science Fair held April 15-16 at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
Audrey Q. Webb, sixth-grader from Spring Hill Advanced Elementary School, placed first in the Pharmacology/Toxicology junior division with her project, “GMO: Food or Foe? The Effects of GMO vs. Organic Papaya Diet on the Longevity and Fertility of the Fruit Fly.”
Natalie R. Gallagher and Connor B. Lydon, both in 10th grade at San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, won first place in the Earth & Planetary Sciences senior division with their project, “Secrets of San Lorenzo Valley’s Atmosphere.”
