Hundreds of people packed the Kennedy Youth Center at Our Lady Help of Christian Church Friday to witness the annual reenactment of Christís death, a performance known as Stations of the Cross.

The event was attended by older women in their Sunday best, men in T-shirts and jeans and all manner of dress and level of formality in between. This included a legion of small children, which fidgeted, cried and skittered about the large auditorium.

Actors dressed as Jesus, Roman soldiers, ladies in waiting and emperors performed in the event.

Co-coordinator Gabriel Camacho said the event is part of the Catholic communityís identity.
