The Santa Cruz Warriors made it a weekend sweep as they defeated the Texas Legends 103-85 on Saturday in Frisco, Texas.
The win was the Warriors’ sixth in a row as they improved to 28-13 on the season. They remained one game behind the Bakersfield Jam for the top spot in the West Division as well as the overall best record in the D-League.
Santa Cruz is a league-best 9-1 in their last 10 games. In five of the six games during the winning streak, the team has scored at least 100 points. Saturday was the third time during the streak the locals have held an opponent to less than 90 points.
Hilton Armstrong was one of the standouts for Santa Cruz, finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Lance Goulbourne came off the bench to score 17 points and grab 15 points in 27 minutes of action. He was 5-for-7 from the court.
Darington Hobson led the Warriors with 18 points and four assists. Stefhon Hannah had 15 points and four assists while Cameron Jones had 12 points. Maurice Baker was 5-for-8 shooting and had 10 points and three assists.
