WATSONVILLE — Two more suspects were arrested and charged with the murder of 20-year-old Felipe Reyes, Watsonville Police Sgt. Eric Taylor announced Thursday, days after another pair were arrested for the same crime.
Oscar Vaca Vargas and a male juvenile were arrested in the gang-related case, Taylor said.
"We are confident we currently have the persons responsible for this crime," he said.
Two other suspects, 15 and 17, were arrested late Friday and early Saturday and charged with the murder. Lt. Jorge Zamora said the suspects live in Watsonville.
Reyes was reportedly attacked on Feb. 28 by a group of four of five males after being chased through a neighborhood.
Reyes, a Watsonville resident, was stabbed at least two times in a parking lot between Lincoln Street and Freedom Boulevard at Alvarado Street. He ultimately collapsed in the doorway of Watsonville Upholstery. Paramedics pronounced Reyes dead at the scene.
It was the third homicide in Watsonville this year.
