Posted: Wednesday, Mar 6th, 2013

WATSONVILLE — Jose Juarez, longtime resident of Watsonville, died suddenly on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his home. He was 59.

Mr. Juarez was born in Michoacán, Mexico to Mauro Juarez and Candida Ceja on Jan. 20, 1954. He moved to Watsonville in the early 1970s where he worked locally in the agricultural fields and then proceeded to landscaping where he remained for the last 12 years.

Mr. Juarez was a happy, outgoing and lovable man. His presence lit up every room he would come across, his love for music especially his tamborazo, will always be what embodied him as a person. His personality was so great that it impacted the lives of the people around him. He loved his western ties and would always be present with his cowboy hat and pointy boots where ever he would go.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella; his children, Ivan, Fernando, Marcela and Andy; six grandchildren; two brothers and eight sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

A mass in his honor will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Assumption Church. All donations to be proceeded to the family. Arrangements are being organized by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
