Fern Brown

WATSONVILLE — Fern Z. Brown died at a nursing home in Watsonville on Thursday, February 21, 2013.

Mrs. Brown was born in Ash Flat, Ark. and moved to Watsonville many years ago. She was a homemaker, raising her four children and belonged to the Aptos Grange.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughters, Sylvia (Duane) Wells of Desert Hot Springs, Aleta (Lane) Mead of Polson, Mont. and Rexine (Garry) Watts of Aptos; brother, Calvin Estes of Mountain Home, Ark.; sisters, Launita Southard of Melbourne, Ark. and Betty Benton of Glencoe, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Brown and son, Gene Brown.

Graveside services were privately held on Monday at Oakwood Cemetery in Santa Cruz. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements. Donations to your favorite charity are preferred.
