WATSONVILLE — Leticia Marie Hernandez, lifelong resident of Watsonville, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was 49.
Ms. Hernandez was born in Watsonville on July 5, 1963 to Ysidro Hernandez and Cruz Luna. She was a graduate of Renaissance High and worked for Fox Racing Shox, a job she greatly loved, for 11 years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and best friend. She was known for her kindness, laughter and her beautiful smile that could light up the room; her passion of cooking, listening to oldies music and the love of her Fuchsia ‘73 Chevy Impala. She was a loving and compassionate daughter, generous sister, aunt and a true best friend for 33 years.
She is survived by her mother, Cruz Luna; sisters, Ruth Durden, Stella Hernandez and Eleanor Alonzo; brother, Cipriano Hernandez, all of Watsonville; several nieces, nephews, great-nephews and a great-niece; and her best friend Maria DeLeon of Watsonville. She is preceded in death by her father, Ysidro Hernandez; and her boyfriend, Anthony Garcia Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m.
